CHECKOUT
Use the following procedure to check for proper valve
operation:
1.
Check the valvebody and connections for leaks.
IMPORTANT
Before installing linkageandactuator,makesure that
the valve stemoperates freely. Impaired stem
operation can indicate that thebodywas twistedor
the stemwas bent. Either of these conditions can
require valve replacement.
2.
After installing linkageandactuator, check theoperation
according to the installation information furnishedwith
these controls.
3.
Operate the system through one complete cycle to
ensure the valve controls properly.
4.
Check the valveat regular intervals for leakagearound
thepacking.
NOTE: Thepacking is spring-loaded and should
seldom requireattention.
5.
If leakage is discovered and inspection shows that the
packinggland is screwed down tightly, then repack the
valve.
