Fig. 6. Three-waymixingvalveoperationwithcoil bypass.
NOTE: Three-way valvesmaintain constant flow inpiping.
As temperature requirements change, volumeof
fluid varies in the coil.
ThreadedValveBodies
Threadingon threaded bodies conform toNPT.
IMPORTANT
1. Before installing linkageandactuator,makesure that
the valve stemoperates freely. Impaired stem
operation can indicate that the bodywas twisted or
the stemwas bent. Either of these conditions can
require valve replacement.
2. Align the pipes squarelywith the valve at eachend
connection.
3. If the pipes are forced into the valve, thebody can
become twisted and improper seating can result.
4. Apply pipe dope sparingly.
5. Be careful to prevent pipe debris, suchas chips and
scale, fromentering thepipingbecause thismaterial
can lodge in the seat andprevent proper closing.
NOTES:
— Threadingon threaded bodies conform toNPT.
— Installing a strainer is strongly recommended.
Refer toFig. 7 for valve pipe sizes and thread lengths. Fig. 7
also shows twoeffectivemethods of holding the valve and
pipewhen attaching it. The valvewill not function properly if
twistedor squeezedduring installation.
Refer to installation information furnishedwith the linkageand
motor when installing these controls.
